Work carried out


 

Existing system was a closed protocol type with network links between 3 core buildings on the estate of over 100 buildings. Some buildings had input capability, there was no way to provide site-wide alert.

Whilst primarily goal each year was to ensure all panel detectors call points and sounders were serviced to provide Statutory Compliance. The estates team want to upgrade the system to allow a complete site network of fire panels covering all building over the next 15 years.

 

The process


 

Compass put in place a core network between initially 3 buildings and brought it online over a phase installation process to the present where over 70 buildings now have site-wide network transparency. At the same time Compass installed its own fire system monitoring hardware and software which allowed complete system data monitoring 24hrs a day, with off-site accessibility.

This off-site system has allowed Compass to reduce false alarms and fire brigade callouts to an absolute minimum. With the facility to extract weekly testing reports, 6monthly inspections with all devices operated on a single report.

End result


 

All site fire alarm systems are maintained annually but also site has a smart app to help with complete site weekly fire testing from a two-man job to a one-man job.
